This is going to be one busy fall for PPA! With so much going on we would like to take a minute to highlight a few of the events where we could really use your help. We are always looking for volunteers and donations, sponsors, and supporters. Please help spread the word about these incredible fall events.

Strut Your Mutt – Saturday, September 17 at Walter E. Long Park

support.bestfriends.org

This event is hosted by Best Friends Animal Society and BOBS from Sketchers. Touted as “No ordinary dog walking event”, this festival helps support life-saving efforts for animals in shelters, foster care, and on the streets. The PPA Strut Your Mutt team is hoping to raise $5000 to continue our efforts and help bring more animals into our program and fund medical needs of our rescues. To date, we have reached $550 just 11% of our goal, and we need your help! To donate, please visit support.bestfriends.org/goto/ppateam.

Heartthrobs and Hound Dogs Calendar Release Party – Saturday, September 24 at Doghouse Drinkery & Dog Park

potential-cover-300x193

Created by photographer, Ricki Beason, the Heartthrobs and Hound Dogs calendar features 3 of our PPA celebrities: Maxwell, Duchess, and Bebe. Oh, did I mention they are posing with shirtless first-responders and military vets? Who doesn’t need a calendar? Ricki began her cause to help clear up the misconceptions that shelter dogs are broken, have problems, or couldn’t possibly be good pets. The calendar features adoptable dogs (and of course those heartthrobs) from shelters and rescues across the state. Come out to Doghouse Drinkery on September 24 to meet the Austin area Heartthrobs and Hound Dogs! The calendars sell for $20, and proceeds go to 9 different Texas shelters, including PPA. You can order your calendar at http://www.rickibeasonrescuephotography.com.

One of our biggest fundraising events, we need your help to make it a huge success. Right now, our greatest need is local business sponsorship, volunteers, and of course participants. You can help save the lives of homeless animals by signing up to participate in the Dog Jog and 5K Run, or by making a donation in support of the event. The day’s activities consist of a competitive, timed 5K Run, a leisurely 1-mile Dog Jog, contests, Awards Ceremony, pet friendly vendors, and other activities. All proceeds benefit the pets awaiting homes or medical management in the Pflugerville Pets Alive Organization. For more information or to register visit https://pflugervillepetsalive.org/dogjog. If your business would like to sponsor please contact dogjog@pflugervillepetsalive.org.
